Developing Debating Skills (all ages)
In Lesson 9, we practiced a full debate and used Stakeholder analysis to help us create arguments.
To recap, a Stakeholder is someone who is affected by the motion. It is important to consider Stakeholders when generating arguments for a debate, and thinking about who is the most affected by the motion as this will strengthen your argument.
Take a look at the motion video below for ‘This House believes that billionaires should not exist.’ Create a list of Stakeholders in this debate and then have a go at ranking them in order from least to most important in the debate. The most important Stakeholder in the debate is the one that is most affected by the motion.
