International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8th. The day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also raises awareness about gender equality and the work that still needs to be done for this to be achieved.

Activity: Have a think about some of your favourite speakers that are women. This could be:
– Someone you know personally
– A politician
– A celebrity
– An athlete
– An author

Once you have decided on your favourite speaker, write a PEEL speech about why they are your favourite! Think about their best speech, the different stylistic techniques they use and what they deliver speeches about.
